Context
ETI makes circuit breakers, residual current devices and distribution boards for electrical installations and sells them through electrical wholesalers. Since 2023 I have been designing promotional and technical materials for the Czech branch and preparing them for print. The visual style is set by the European headquarters; my job is to carry it into catalogues, leaflets, large format and trade fair stands for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Challenge
Here the reader isn’t a designer but an electrician or a wholesale buyer. The catalogue is full of type codes, tables and order numbers, and a single swapped value means a wrongly ordered distribution board. At the same time, the material has to hold its own on the counter next to the competition. It wasn’t about making it pretty. It had to be accurate, legible and consistent everywhere.

Catalogues
The foundation is four catalogues: the distribution board production programme in Czech and English, a product range catalogue from ETIMAT circuit breakers to consumer units, and a mini catalogue for the new ETIMAT P range. Together that’s almost 130 pages of tables, type codes and product photos.
Each comes out in print and digital versions and is updated once a year. That’s why I build the pages as a system where the data can be rewritten without the layout falling apart. After proofreading, I prepare the print-ready files and hand them straight to the printer.

Beyond the catalogues
Everything else grows out of the catalogues. New-product leaflets (ETIMAT P, ETICON, residual current devices, photovoltaic protection), print ads in the DEK and Elkov magazines and POS for wholesalers: roll-ups, display cabinets, shelving and shop windows. In large format, the billboard campaign “Už to vyměň!” (“Replace it already!”) for the Czech Republic and Slovakia and the entire stand at the Amper 2025 trade fair, from the lightbox and partition walls to the info desk and TV wall. Plus banners, social media posts and company merch.
Outcome
More than 60 jobs in three years, all in one visual language, from the catalogue to a socket label. Electricians recognise ETI at first glance, whether they’re holding a catalogue or walking past a billboard.
